Saint Augustine's University is a private historically Black Christian college in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was founded by Episcopal Church clergy in 1867 for the education of formerly enslaved Black people. The university has traditionally focused its mission around first-generation college students and students "who otherwise wouldn't get the opportunity" to receive a college education. Its athletics program has a record of achievements, notably in track and field.
